NYSA was born from a feeling of sensuality. It resonated with me through the Intimate archetype from Nick Bantock's archetype cards.
This is an archetype that carries within it a beautiful, sweet sensuality and an intuition capable of discerning every emotional and physical need. It holds infinite acceptance, an understanding of expectations and longing. To sink into its embrace is pleasurable, intoxicating, and tender all at once.
Wearing NYSA, I discovered an opulent, celebratory nature, not merely sensual. In searching for a name for this fragrance, I sought to capture all of these feelings. And so NYSA was born - a name that reflects the festive, intoxicating spirit of celebration. In ancient Greek mythology, Nysa is the place where Dionysus was raised - the god of wine and revelry.
Archetypes and myths are a language that is ancient and full of hidden meaning. They guide us through human experiences and illuminate them, making them easier to understand - like a vast catalogue of human experience that allows us to look into our own depths and build a vocabulary for our inner world.
Each symbol can mean something different to each person. My understanding and feeling may not align with yours at all and that is perfectly fine. That is why listening to yourself is the most truthful path. Even if it is only about small things - it still resonates within our inner world with powerful force.
The practice of hearing yourself can happen easily and playfully. Even through the choice of a fragrance.
